According to the new Vinnova report "The Nanotechnology Innovation System", Sweden has an important and internationally recognized research environment in the field of nanotechnology, which implies enormous commercial potential. However, at the same time, the report acknowledges that its weak point is bringing nanotechnology to new applications and new markets.

"To develop new nanotechnological innovations, it is necessary for more Swedish companies, highly competent in research, to bring to the market more internationally competitive finished applications that allow them to grow and offer more jobs," says Eugenia Pérez, analyst at Vinnova, and one of the authors of the report.
